His next solo album, Loser's Paradise, (1995) was produced by Gaffney's friend Dave Alvin [9] and featured contributions from Lucinda Williams and Jim Lauderdale. In 2002, Gaffney formed the band Hacienda Brothers with guitarist and songwriter Dave Gonzalez, founding member of The Paladins.
He played all over the world with The Cold Hard Facts and with Dave Alvin and other artists. His witty observations about life, sports and women were often unrepeatable but sometimes found their way into a song. He knew the words to every song recorded since 1954 and a couple from before that.

30. Apr. 2008 · This recording is from a Chris Gaffney Memorial show. Dave sang two songs during the set by The Cold Hard Facts and then did a set with the Guilty Men. The night included many guests.
