Pamela Ramcier was essentially a fourth member of the group; in addition to her uncredited contributions to the studio recordings (session musicians were sometimes listed on back covers of albums, but her name never seemed to be included), she also toured with them on a regular basis.
Joined by Pamela Ramcier, they produced a string of significant hits throughout the '60s, including covers of "Guantanamera" and " Louie Louie ." This turned out to be their last major hit, and they split up in 1975. This was the theme song to the Liza Minelli movie The Sterile Cuckoo, giving the song a huge boost.

Although sidelined by the original trio for reasons which may never become clear, Pamela Ramcier had now become an integral part of The Sandpipers' sound. Her lyricless vocals were used much like second strings, adding an ethereal quality to The Sandpipers' sound.
