Thomas Fabian Staley (August 13, 1935 – March 29, 2022) was an American author, professor, and library director. He was director of the Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin. He authored or edited 15 books on literary topics and was the founding editor of the James Joyce Quarterly.
1. Apr. 2022 · Tom Staley’s work—as English professor, scholar, editor, Joyce pioneer—is unrivaled and the entire Joyce community is hugely in his debt. His legacy will live on. He will be remembered as a passionate and brilliant pioneer of global Joyce Studies. May he rest in peace and may his widow, family, and friends find solace in their many memories of him.
