24. Okt. 2023 · Students of the Second Saint Petersburg Gymnasium collected more than 100 questions for the Rector of SPbU, from which they selected some of the most interesting and topical ones and asked them during the meeting.
Vladimir Smirnov attended the Second Gymnasium, the oldest secondary school in St Petersburg, and there he won the gold medal for mathematics. From school he entered the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of St Petersburg University. Smirnov had become friends with a number of outstanding mathematicians while at the Second Gymnasium.
He studied at the 2nd Saint Petersburg Gymnasium, graduated from the 5th grade, left the gymnasium due to illness in 1867, after which he took up self-education. He began his creative activity in 1875: he collected and described literary and historical monuments, since 1877 he published articles.
