Flatt and Scruggs at Carnegie Hall! is a live album by bluegrass artists Flatt and Scruggs. It was recorded on December 8, 1962, at the first bluegrass concert ever performed at Carnegie Hall. [2] It was released in 1963 by Columbia Records (catalog number CL 2045). [3]
10. Apr. 2020 · On December 8, 1962, as country and bluegrass music threatened to become eclipsed by more modern genres like rock ’n’ roll, Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs, and the Foggy Mountain Boys gave the historic first bluegrass concert ever performed at Carnegie Hall.
Definitely one of the all-time great live Bluegrass albums from 1963. Great sound and a great performance by Flatt & Scruggs & the Foggy Mountain Boys. Later compilations have been issued with additional tracks, so you may want to look around for those.

The two left that band early in 1948, and within a few months had formed the Foggy Mountain Boys. Flatt's rhythm-guitar style and vocals and Scruggs' banjo style gave them a distinctive sound that won them many fans.
