Norman David "Shel" Shapiro (born 16 August 1943, Stanmore, Middlesex) began performing in London as a guitarist and singer with rock and roll band Rob Storm & the Whispers.
Shel Shapiro, vero nome Norman David Shapiro, è un cantautore, produttore discografico e attore britannico naturalizzato italiano, noto anche per essere stato il frontman dei Rokes.
Neben Gründer Shel Shapiro waren die Mitglieder Bobby Posner, Johnny Charlton und Mike Shepstone. 1963 wurde die Gruppe in Hamburg als Begleitband von Colin Hicks für eine Italientournee verpflichtet, nun unter dem Namen The Cabin Boys.

Shel Shapiro. English Musician and Composer (born in London the 16th of August, 1943), famous for his work in Italy as member of the band "The Rokes", and later for writing songs for many italian pop singers. Now also movie actor, always in Italy.
London-born Shel Shapiro (b. 1943) had broken into music as a guitarist and singer with Rob Storm & the Whispers. He played in Hamburg as a member of the Shel Carson Combo and then became a member of the band backing Colin Hicks, the brother of Tommy Steele, on an extended tour of Italy in 1963 as The Cabin Boys.
