History. A Grand Trunk Western Railroad bridge (located at 42°59'56.2"N 83°41'35.6"W) in Grand Funk's hometown of Flint, Michigan, that was re-painted to instead show the band's name, as well as the first names of founding members Mark Farner and Don Brewer, and early 1980s bassist Dennis Bellinger.

Von 1981 bis 1983 reformierte sich Grand Funk Railroad mit Dennis Bellinger (ohne Mel Schacher) und veröffentlichte ein weiteres Album: Grand Funk Lives. Die Kritiker des Rolling Stone urteilten harsch: „‚Grand Funk Lives‘ wird als eines der peinlichsten Comeback-Alben in die Geschichte eingehen“.
2. Juli 2021 · Craig Frost hatte feste Verpflichtungen als Keyboarder bei Bob Seger’s Silver Bullit Band und sagte ebenfalls ab. Mit dem Ersatz Dennis Bellinger wurde “Grand Funk Lives” eingespielt. Die Platte erreichte nur den 147 Rang in den Charts. Farner verdiente sich danach sein Geld bei Werbeauftritten für eine Lebensmittelkette.

As we had noted in a previous FTV, Dennis had been part of the reunited Grand Funk Railroad for two albums in the early 1980s ...
The album was the first to feature bassist Dennis Bellinger and the first and only to feature keyboardist Lance Duncan Ong. The track "Queen Bee" was featured in the 1981 motion picture soundtrack for the animated film Heavy Metal .
