New Year's Eve All-Star Jam from the Red Blazer, Too in NYC. Fan in a party hat. Photo courtesy Riverwalk Jazz. In July of 1993, the well-known New York City theater district nightclub the Red Blazer Too hosted the Riverwalk Jazz radio show.
The Jim Cullum Jazz Band swings in the New Year with featured artists Dan Barrett on trombone, piano legend Dick Hyman, Broadway's Carol Woods, jazz singer Stephanie Nakasian, and Marty Grosz on vocals and guitar. Also on the bill—singer and trumpeter Doc Cheatham who was then 88 years old.
Adolphus Anthony Cheatham, better known as Doc Cheatham (June 13, 1905 [1] – June 2, 1997), was an American jazz trumpeter, singer, and bandleader. He is also the grandfather of musician Theo Croker .
