The Institut Henri Poincaré (IHP) is an international research centre for mathematics and theoretical physics founded by Émile Borel. It is located in central Paris next to two other institutes founded in the 1920s, the Institut Curie and the Institut de biologie physico-chimique.
The Henri Poincaré University, or Nancy 1, nicknamed UHP, was a public research university located in Nancy, France. UHP was merged into University of Lorraine in 2012, and was previously a member of the Nancy-Université federation, belonging to the French Nancy-Metz academy .

This survey will focus on Poincaré’s philosophy.
