Allan Holdsworth (* 6. August 1946 in Bradford, Yorkshire; † 15. April 2017 in Vista, Kalifornien) [1] war ein britischer Jazzgitarrist . Da nach seinen Klangvorstellungen die Gitarre wie ein Saxophon klingen sollte, experimentierte Holdsworth früh mit elektronischen Verfremdungen.

Allan Holdsworth (6 August 1946 – 15 April 2017) was a British jazz fusion and progressive rock guitarist, violinist and composer. He contributed to numerous bands, including Soft Machine, U.K., The Tony Williams Lifetime, Pierre Moerlen's Gong and Bruford, in addition to solo work.
