For such a seemingly small-scale project the album attracted an all-star guest cast of 1970s musicians (see below), and fellow Faces Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones also guest on "Tonight's Number", one of the more uptempo rock-oriented tracks.
It was a collaboration between former Faces bandmates Ronnie Lane and Ronnie Wood and is mostly instrumental. The album features a stellar line-up of musicians, including Pete Townsend, Ian Stewart, Ian McLagan, Kenney Jones, Bobby Keys, Rick Grech and Benny Gallagher.

Mahoney’s Last Stand (Limited Green Vinyl Reissue) Real Gone Music. While its 1972 film counterpart may not be very memorable – likely due to its Canadian origins and its lack of a theatrical release – Mahoney’s Last Stand the soundtrack however, is built on a far more interesting story.
3. Juli 2023 · In 1972 French-Canadian actor Alexis Kanner approached Faces’ bassist and vocalist Ronnie Lane about composing the soundtrack for the film Mahoney’s Last Stand, which I’ve never seen but from what I’ve read about it sounds like a non-comedic Green Acres.
