Erik Michael Coonce (August 1, 1946 – February 25, 2011) was the drummer for American rock band The Grass Roots from 1966 to 1972.
This band consisted of Creed Bratton (vocals, guitar), Rick Coonce (drums, percussion), Warren Entner (vocals, guitar, keyboards) and Kenny Fukumoto (vocals, bass) and had formed only a year earlier.
Er starb mit 67 Jahren am 11. Juli 2011 nach einem mehrwöchigen Koma infolge einer Kopfverletzung, die er sich bei einem Sturz zugezogen hatte. [1] .
