Seán Haughey (born 8 November 1961) is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician who has been a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin Bay North constituency since 2016, and previously from 1992 to 2011 for the Dublin North-Central constituency.
6. Feb. 2024 · Tánaiste Micheál Martin has paid tribute to Fianna Fáil TD for Dublin Bay North Seán Haughey who has announced his retirement from politics. Haughey, a former minister and Lord Mayor of Dublin announced on Tuesday evening his decision not to contest the next General Election.
Seán Haughey was a Minister of State at the Department of Education from December 2006 to March 2011. He had Special Responsibility for Lifelong Learning, Educational Disadvantage and School Transport. (He also had responsibility for Youth Affairs from December 2006 to May 2008).
