Staton signed with Intersound Records in 1995. In 2000, she released her eleventh album, Here's a Blessing. In 2004, the British record label Honest Jon's released a compilation album of her soul work from the late 1960s and early 1970s, the self-titled Candi Staton.
After meeting Clarence Carter in the late 60s, Candi Staton recorded three albums in the famous Muscle Shoals Studios for Rick Hall's FAME label. Stunning set of her late '60's-early '70's Fame records output, two dozen or so southern soul tracks (sort of like black country music, but way way way better and more soulful than any Darius Rucker or Charlie Pride record I've ever heard), many of them R&B hits (and a couple of pop crossovers).
