Karel Lamač (27. ledna 1897 Praha, Rakousko-Uhersko – 2. srpna 1952 Hamburk, Spolková republika Německo) byl český filmař, jednalo se o velmi významnou zakladatelskou osobnost moderní české kinematografie.
Režisér, scénárista, střihač, textař, zpěvák a herec Karel Lamač se narodil 27. ledna 1897 v Praze do rodiny zámožného košířského lékárníka Karla Lamače st. Odešel ze studií farmacie a elektrotechniky a založil vlastní orchestr, hrál u ochotníků a vystupoval jako salonní kouzelník.
