Nektar vocalist and guitarist Roye Albrighton has died after a long illness, former bandmate Derek ‘Mo’ Moore has confirmed. Albrighton passed away in Poole, Dorset, at the age of 67, three years after the launch of Nektar’s latest album Time Machine.
Nektar (German for nectar) is an English progressive rock band formed in Hamburg, West Germany in 1969, by guitarist and lead vocalist Roye Albrighton, keyboardist Allan "Taff" Freeman, bassist Derek "Mo" Moore, and drummer Ron Howden.

Im Alter von 67 Jahren ist am 27. 07.2016 Roye Albrighton, der Gründer, Sänger und Gitarrist von NEKTAR gestorben. Im offiziellem Statement der Band und laut seines Sohnes heißt es: „It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our friend, comrade, rock legend and father, Roye Albrighton, who passed away peacefully last night.“.
Nektar vocalist/guitarist Roye Albrighton passed away peacefully at the age of 67. Albrighton had just recently completed the text for a full-length book (co-written by Dave Thompson) about the group he founded and led, prog rock heroes Nektar.
