    On April 22, 2021, Jacobs was found dead in a motel room in Tampa, Florida, at age 57. On June 10, 2021, the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner announced that Shock G's death was caused by an accidental overdose of fentanyl, methamphetamineand ethanol (alcohol). Jacobs was interred at Parklawn Memorial Cemetery in Dunedin, Florida.
