Die LP's "Live Wire-Blues Power" und "Years Gone By" werden zu den bis dahin meistverkauftesten Bluesplatten. Danach konnte er nicht mehr an seine großen Erfolge anknüpfen. Erwähnenswert wären noch seine Beteiligung an Gary Moores Album "Still Got The Blues" und "In Session" mit Stevie Ray Vaughan.
