Jan Hammer ist ein tschechisch-amerikanischer Jazz-Pianist und -Keyboarder. Als Filmmusiker erreichte er vor allem mit seinen Kompositionen zur Fernsehserie Miami Vice große Bekanntheit.
JAN HAMMER's musical career has been based firmly on developing the classical, jazz and rock repertoire. Following his Berklee period work in the jazz field, he became one of the founder members of the MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA, one of the most successful jazz rock groups of the early 70's.
