Seit 2018 besteht die aktive Gruppe Nektar um Ron Howden, Derek „Mo“ Moore und Mick Brockett zusammen mit Ryche Chalanda, Randy Dembo und Kendall Scott. Sie veröffentlichten im Januar 2020 das Album The Other Side.
Born in London, England, Mick first created a liquid projection light show at his home in Wimbledon in 1967. With two others, he created Fantasia Light Circus and played Middle Earth, now known as The Roundhouse , and provided the backdrop for bands such as Pretty Things, The Nice and Pink Floyd .
1969–1973: Early years. The band formed in Hamburg, West Germany in 1969. The founding members were Englishmen Roye Albrighton on guitars and lead vocals, Allan "Taff" Freeman on keyboards, Derek "Mo" Moore on bass, Ron Howden on drums and artists Mick Brockett and Keith Walters on lights and "special effects".
5. März 2024 · Nektar had a secret weapon, too: lighting tech and honorary fifth member Mick Brockett. Previously employed by Pink Floyd, Brockett was a maestro of the liquid light show, manipulating colour wheel slides with an oil or liquid dye solution trapped inside to create trippy, outlandish backdrops that chimed with Nektar’s deliciously far-out music.

24. Jan. 2024 · They also approached lyricist and lightshow man Mick Brockett, who originally joined the band in January 1970. “Nektar was a music and light theatre – the music was enhanced by the lightshow, the lightshow told the story, so it was a concept rather than a band,” says Moore.
Mick Brockett, whose visuals are integral to Nektar performances, is upgrading his renowned light show with assistance from the band’s digital wizard, Jay Petsko. The update will incorporate additional film clips plus a rich trove of previously unseen photos of the band on and off tour.
