The Bill Gaither Trio, originally simply The Gaither Trio, was an American gospel music group, last consisting of Bill, his wife Gloria Gaither, and Michael English.
The Gaither Vocal Band is an American southern gospel vocal group, named after its founder and leader Bill Gaither. On March 1, 2017, it was announced that the Gaither Vocal Band lineup consisted of Reggie Smith, Wes Hampton , Adam Crabb, Todd Suttles, and Bill Gaither.
An avid fan of gospel quartets throughout his childhood, Bill founded his first group, The Bill Gaither Trio, in 1956, while he was a college student. He began teaching English in 1959 because his musical aspirations couldn’t support him full-time… yet.
Bill Gaither sang ab 1956 nebenberuflich mit seinem Bruder Danny und seiner jüngeren Schwester Mary Ann als Bill Gaither Trio. Später gründete er ein Männerquartett mit dem Namen „ Gaither Vocal Band “ und organisierte Konzerte und Videoaufnahmen.
