The Music Machine. (1966 to 1967) 1964: Ron Edgar is a senior at Hopkins Senior High School, a drummer who had started playing at 12 or 13 years old and had an interest in jazz music. Ron gets together with Eldon Ferdine, a guitar player and Larry Hutchinson, who plays upright bass.
Their debut album, Bread, was released in September 1969 and peaked at No. 127 on the Billboard 200. The songwriting on the album was split evenly between Gates and the team of Griffin-Royer. Session musicians Jim Gordon and Ron Edgar accompanied the band on drums for the album.

Nov. 2021 · The band formed in Los Angeles but originated in different parts of the country – drummer Ron Edgar was from Minnesota, bassist Keith Olsen came from South Dakota, and vocalist Sean Bonniwell hailed from California. The trio played folk as The Ragamuffins, before recruiting two new members and rebranding as The Music Machine.
