Die Band wurde im Jahr 1979 von Sänger Anthony „Rat“ Martin gegründet. Kurze Zeit später kamen die Gitarristen Bruce Riddel und Tom Lowe, Schlagzeuger Gary und Bassist Garry Maloney zur Besetzung.
