Acland Burghley School is a mixed comprehensive secondary school in the Tufnell Park area of the London Borough of Camden, in London, England. The school received specialist status as an Arts College in 2000 and is a part of the LaSWAP Sixth Form Consortium. Recent quality assessments.
Read here for a full history of Acland Burghley, what was here before the school and how the school coped during the two World Wars. During World War Two, Acland and Burghley became ‘Emergency’ schools for the children who were not evacuated and bomb shelters were built in the playgrounds.

Acland Burghley School was designed by Howell, Killick, Partridge & Amis (HKPA) between 1963-7. It was Grade II listed in 2016, in recognition of its innovative plan, skilful use of pre-cast concrete components and in particular, the jewel-like, top-lit assembly hall, with its rich textures of concrete and timber ceiling.
4. Juli 2023 · Acland Burghley School in Camden, London, is a Grade II listed brutalist building designed by HKPA. It plans to transform its hexagonal hall into a community arts and performance space and a Museum of Brutalist Architecture, with support from the NLHF.
