At the Yale School of the Environment, our work directly impacts environmental policy and practice and helps to solve local and global environmental challenges. Linking Nature and the Economy.
The school changed its name to Yale School of the Environment in July 2020 and, within the school, created a distinct Forest School with dedicated faculty and degrees. It also teaches the Yale College undergraduate courses needed for the Environmental Studies major.

The Master of Environmental Science (MESc) and Master of Forest Science (MFS) programs are designed for students wishing to conduct scientific research that contributes toward basic and applied knowledge.
Whether it is at the local or global level, we help students develop the skills, knowledge, and perspective to navigate complex global environmental issues and help build a sustainable future.
