Alexander McDonald (5 November 1937 – 17 March 2016) [1] [2] was a Scottish minister of the Church of Scotland who served as the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland from 1997 to 1998.
FORMER Church of Scotland moderator and father of actor David Tennant, the Very Rev Dr Sandy McDonald, has died aged 78. McDonald, moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland from 1997-98, revealed last year he was fighting the degenerative lung disease pulmonary fibrosis.
