Martin Robert Turner (born 1 October 1947) is an English musician best known for his time as the bass guitarist, lead vocalist and a founding member of the rock band, Wishbone Ash. [1] Career. Turner was with Wishbone Ash from their inception in 1969 until 1980, during which time he was a songwriter and creative force within the band.

Die Ursprünge der Band liegen im Jahr 1966, als sich Steve Upton ( Schlagzeug ), Martin Turner ( Bass, Gesang) und sein Bruder Glen Turner ( Gitarre, Gesang) in Torquay zusammentaten und die Empty Vessels gründeten. Die Band bewährte sich, benannte sich in Tanglewood um und zog nach London.
Wishbone Ash was formed in October 1969 by bass guitarist Martin Turner and drummer Steve Upton. When Tanglewood's original guitarist, Martin's brother Glenn Turner left the trio and returned to his native Devon, their manager, Miles Copeland III advertised for a guitar player and also for a keyboard player.
