Elektra Records ist ein Musiklabel in den USA. Es wurde 1950 mit einem Startkapital von 600 US-Dollar von Jac Holzman und Paul Rickholt in Los Angeles gegründet. Elektra Records (or Elektra Entertainment) is an American record label owned by Warner Music Group, founded in 1950 by Jac Holzman and Paul Rickolt. It played an important role in the development of contemporary folk and rock music between the 1950s and 1970s.
US label founded by Jac Holzman in December, 1950, in New York City. The original parent company for the label was the Elektra-Stratford Record Corp. Elektra initially recorded folk music, ethnic music, jazz and gospel, although it later expanded into blues, pop, and rock music.
