Michael Peter Balzary (born October 16, 1962), known professionally as Flea, is an American musician and actor. He is a founding member and bassist of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers and, along with vocalist Anthony Kiedis, one of the only two members to appear on every one of the band's albums.

In 2003 he rejoined Eleven bandmates Johannes and the late Natasha Shneider to record what would be the group’s final album. The following year Irons completed his solo debut, Attention Dimension, and most recently guested on records by Spinnerette, Die Mannequin, and Hole.
In 2004, he issued his first solo effort, Attention Dimension, followed in 2010 by No Heads Are Better Than One. A pair of experimental rock EPs, Dream of Luminous Blue and Koi Fish in Space, appeared in 2019 and 2022, respectively.
