Von der Kritik gelobt wurden seine Versionen bekannter Jacques-Brel-Chansons. Seine ersten drei Alben ( Scott (1967), Scott 2 (1968), Scott 3 (1969)) waren kommerziell sehr erfolgreich, Scott 2 gelangte an die Spitze der britischen Charts. 1969 bekam er seine eigene TV-Show.
"Jackie" was later recorded and released by the American singer-songwriter Scott Walker as his first [citation needed] solo single in 1967. Walker recorded the Mort Shuman translation. The accompaniment was directed by Angela Morley.
