The Scavenger is presumed to be an infected survivor, who still carries both their scavenged items, and survivor instincts. Upon taking damage, the Scavenger will get a boost to their speed, and will run away from the survivors, requiring that they be chased down to be defeated.
Upon death, the Scavenger will drop a random assortment of items, such as ScrapKits, Cola, or Energy Drinks.
Claw
•Deals 10 damage to the affected survivor when hit.
Survivor Instinct
•Upon taking damage, the Scavenger will get a full refill of health and a boost to speed, and will turn around and run away from nearby survivors.
Item Drop
•Upon death, the Scavenger will drop a small assortment of random items, similar to a crate.
•Try to let the Scavenger get closer to you before firing upon it, as it will give you more time to shoot at it before it makes a run for it, as well as increase the chances it'll die close to you, making the items easier to acquire.
•Items that instantly kill commons, such as Caltrops or a Molotov will also instantly kill the Scavenger, making their items much easier to obtain.
•It is very important to kill this zombie in Endless mode or in a situation where all the crates loots are all taken/used, since they have a chance to drop Scrapkits or very important stuff to let you still survive.
•DO NOT try to chase Scavenger, unless it is clear to chase it. A special zombie might be chasing you before you know it.
•The Scavenger bears a striking resemblance to the "Infected Survivor" uncommon infected from L4D2, who would also drop items upon death, and would flee upon taking damage.
