Anita Dangler (September 26, 1922 - March 4, 2000) was an American stage, screen and TV actress who appeared twice in the show during Season 2, once as Virginia, Mindy's hospital room mate who had recently undergone brain surgery in Mork's Health Hints, and again as Princess Lusitania, Exidor's mother in Exidor's Wedding
Anita Dangler was born in Buffalo, New York, USA.
She was married to Michael Prince. Born four days before her husband, in 1922 Dangler often worked with him during their nearly five-decade career. The couple toured the world appearing in the play “The Hostage.” and Anita died the following month after his death in 2000. Both were 77 years old.
Anita Dangler, appeared on stage in such plays as “Anything Goes” and “The Bald Soprano.” On Broadway, she was singled out for special praise as the plump, harried nurse in a 1980 revival of “The Man Who Came to Dinner” at Circle in the Square Theater. “She hasn’t much to do,” one critic wrote, “but she does it in such a funny, stiff-legged, awkward and flustered way you have to roar when she angrily announces she’s quitting to go work in a munitions plant.” In the Los Angeles area, she won critical praise in supporting roles of “The Cherry Orchard” and “Dr. Faustus Lights the Lights” at Ensemble Studio Theatre.
Her motion pictures included “For Love of Ivy,” “The Goodbye Girl,” “Hero at Large,” “Honky Tonk Freeway” "Brain Donors" and working again alongside Robin William's in “The Fisher King.”
Anita Dangler and Michael Prince have the unusual distinction of being the only married couple to both appear twice, albeit separately, in the show. While her husband's appearances came in the first and last seasons, Anita's both came in Season 2, within 7 episodes of each other.
Anita appeared firstly as Virginia, Mindy's voice hearing post operative brain surgery patient, who informs Mork that Mindy is not Mindy but Mrs MacDonald planned for brain surgery of her own, rather than the Tonsillitis she went in for, in Mork's Health Hints.
