30. Apr. 2022 · David Poe, Jr. was best known as the father of American author Edgar Allan Poe. An actor by profession, David Poe, Jr. abandoned his wife and children in 1810, when his youngest daughter, Rosalie was just an infant, and Edgar was barely one year old. David died in 1811.
