Ken Ogata ( japanisch 緒形 拳, Ogata Ken, eigentlich: Akinobu Ogata 緒形 明伸, Ogata Akinobu ); (* 20. Juli 1937 in Ushigome Stadt Tokio (heute: Shinjuku, Tokio ); † 5. Akinobu Ogata (緒形 明伸, Ogata Akinobu, 20 July 1937 – 5 October 2008), better known by his stage name Ken Ogata (緒形 拳, Ogata Ken), was a Japanese actor. He appeared in more than 50 movies and 25 television series. For his merits and contribution to arts in 2000 received Japan's Medal of Honor with Purple Ribbon.

Ken Ogata (1937-2008) was a versatile and acclaimed actor who appeared in films by Greenaway, Schrader and Imamura. He also played prominent roles in several NHK Taiga dramas, such as Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Benkei and Ashikaga Sadauji.
Born in Tokyo, Ken Ogata joined a theatrical group in 1958 and made his screen debut in the 1960 film "Toi Hitotsu no Michi" (One Long Road). In 1965, he became famous for his starring role as warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi in NHK's period drama "Taikoki."
Ken Ogata is an Assistant Professor at York University, cross appointed between the School of Administrative Studies, and the School of Public Policy and Administration.
