8. Sept. 2010 · Glenn Shadix, who played a voodoo-practicing interior designer in Tim Burton's 1988 comedy "Beetlejuice", passed away in 2010 at age 58. He also voiced a character in "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and appeared in many TV shows.
I have a version recorded in the 1920s by the great Roza Eskenazi, a Sephardic Jew born in Istanbul who sang in Greek, Turkish, Armenian, Ladino, and even Yiddish, I think. Rembetika music is all about getting high, getting into fights, and getting laid, which is why it's called the Greek blues.
