Mihkel (Icelandic: Undir Halastjörnu) is a 2018 Icelandic-Estonian film directed by Ari Alexander Ergis Magnússon. It is based on true events from a 2004 criminal case in Iceland where a body was discovered by a chance by a diver in the Neskaupstaður harbor.

synopsis. Mihkel and Igor have been friends since childhood. When their native Estonia regained its independence in 1991, the first country to formally recognize this fact was Iceland. Iceland immediately became a symbol of hope and justice.
Mihkel boards a ferry from his small town in Estonia to Saint Petersburg in Russia, on his way to Iceland, where he wants to make a new life for himself and his fiancée, Vera.
