The Vourdalak (French: Le Vourdalak) is a 2023 French horror-drama film co-written and directed by Adrien Beau, at his feature film debut. It premiered at the 80th edition of the Venice Film Festival. The film is based on the 1839 Aleksey Konstantinovich Tolstoy's novella The Family of the Vourdalak.

Okt. 2023 · Stumbling across a strange family suffering from the fallout of war with Turkey, despite their denial the Marquis witnesses first hand as he becomes a vourdalak – a strange, vampire-like creature who feeds off and infects his loved ones – a malady that rapidly spreads throughout the family.
Ein Gesandter im Auftrag des französischen Königs kommt auf der Reise durch die abgelegenen Wälder Russlands zum Haus des alten Gorcha. Der Patriarch ist seit Tagen in den Kampf gegen die Türken gezogen und hat seine drei erwachsenen Kindern gewarnt, dass, wenn er später als nach sechs Tagen zurückkehrt, ein schrecklicher Fluch auf ihm lastet.
