  7. John Campbell, 9th Duke of Argyll (1845–1914) was a Scottish nobleman who married a princess and became Governor-General of Canada. He had the honorary title of Marquess of Lorne from 1847 when his father succeeded as Duke of Argyll until 1900 when he became Duke himself.
