Spotted Tail oder Sinte Galeshka (Gefleckter Schweif) wurde um 1823 geboren und war ein bedeutender Häuptling der Brulé-Sioux. Seinen Namen verdankte er einem Trapper, der ihm einen Waschbärenschwanz schenkte, den Spotted Tail von da an immer als Kopfschmuck trug. Seine größte Zeit als Krieger hatte er in den Jahren 1835 bis 1855.
