Isadore "Dore" Schary (August 31, 1905 – July 7, 1980) was an American playwright, director, and producer for the stage and a prolific screenwriter and producer of motion pictures. He directed one feature film, Act One, the film biography of his friend, playwright and theatre director Moss Hart.

Dore Schary was a versatile and controversial figure in Hollywood, who wrote and produced films such as Boys Town, Battleground and The Quiet Man. He became the head of MGM in 1949, but faced challenges from Louis B. Mayer, Harry Rapf and the HUAC hearings.

Dore Schary was a screenwriter, producer and executive who worked for various studios, including MGM, RKO and Vanguard. He won an Oscar for Boys Town (1938) and oversaw classics like Battleground (1949) and An American in Paris (1951).

Mit seinem Skript für den Film Teufelskerle gewann Schary 1939 einen Oscar. Von 1941 war er neben seiner Drehbucharbeit auch als Produzent für die B-Movie-Sektion von MGM tätig, die er 1943 verließ, um für David O. Selznick zu arbeiten. 1947 wurde Schary Produzent bei RKO.
