Zagazig University (Arabic: جامعة الزقازيق) is a public university located in the city of Zagazig, Egypt.
Zagazig University is one of the largest governmental universities in Egypt with approximately 7000 faculty members and more than 120000 students enrolled in 24 academic colleges and institutions.

Zagazig University was established in 1970 contributing to the renaissance of Egypt and its global position on education. It began as a branch of Ain Shams University and was the seventh university set up in Egypt. It has colleges of agriculture, trade, veterinary medicine, human medicine, education and science.

Dank einer Initiative des ehemaligen Direktors des Supreme Council of Antiquities, Prof. Dr. Mohamed I. Bakr, konnte dieser Wunsch erfüllt werden. In der als Studiensammlung konzipierten Ausstellung im Hauptgebäude der Universität sind derzeit 2025 Objekte zu sehen.
