United Kingdom. John Nicholas Rede Elliott (15 November 1916 – 13 April 1994) was an MI6 intelligence officer. His MI6 career was notable for his involvement with the Lionel Crabb affair in the 1950s and the flight of double agent Kim Philby to Moscow in 1963.
Nicholas Elliott is a fictional character in a TV mini series based on the true story of Kim Philby, a KGB double agent who defected to the Soviet Union in 1963. Damian Lewis plays Elliott, who was Philby's friend and colleague in MI6.
