Prinz Albert von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha war ein deutscher Prinz aus dem Haus Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha. 1840 heiratete Albert seine Cousine, die britische Königin Victoria, und hatte bis zu seinem Tod 1861 erheblichen Einfluss auf seine Ehefrau und die Entwicklung der britischen Monarchie. Ab 1857 trug er den Titel Prince Consort.
Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (Franz August Karl Albert Emanuel; 26 August 1819 – 14 December 1861) was the husband of Queen Victoria. As such, he was consort of the British monarch from their marriage on 10 February 1840 until his death in 1861.

In 1840 Prince Albert was made a Knight of the Garter and created a Privy Counsellor, and in 1857 he was officially given the formal title of Prince Consort. Family life was of great importance to Prince Albert: he found much pleasure in the company of his nine children.
