5. Sept. 2018 · However, college officially outlived its usefulness when Zappa met and fell for Kay Sherman. They quit school, moved in together, and got hitched. Zappa had a string of mundane jobs that sapped his joy, including working for a greeting card company and selling encyclopedias door-to-door, which he especially despised.
Take that for what it's worth. Apparently in Bob Zappa's book he talks about it a bit, the only part I know about (because of someone's review) is that apparently Frank still wanted to bring her to Bobby's wedding even as they were divorcing. He barely mentions her in his autobiography.
r/Zappa. • 2 yr. ago. [deleted] On December 28th, 1960, Frank Zappa marries his first wife, Kathryn J. (Kay) Sherman. The two of them stay together 3 years, until evidence of infidelity separates them. Frank purchases Buff Studio in Jan. '64, renames it "Studio Z" and moves in. Divorced in 1964.
