16. März 2008 · Mar 16, 2008. #1. I am looking for an adverb of frequency that fits somewhere between often and sometimes/occasionally . Let's say, about half of the time, maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less, but not often enough to call it often or frequently. My original sentence is: The prose has occasionally an amateurish feel.
19. Dez. 2007 · Normally, the -s on Sundays emphasizes the idea of frequency or of "every Sunday"; however, your sentence takes care of that idea by adding the word "usually." so both expressions would be commonly used. The stores around here are closed on Sunday. (this might mean that the stores were closed only on one Sunday--the next Sunday to come.)
Frequency-domain displays show a parameter (again, usually amplitude) versus frequency. A spectrum analyzer takes an analog input signal—a time-domain signal—and uses the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to convert it to the frequency domain. The resulting spectrum measurement shows the energy of each frequency component at each point along the frequency spectrum.

This is also possible, but it has a different meaning. In this sentence, often is modifying don't go ...
10. Feb. 2020 · I think that "every day and twice on Sunday" is just a funny way to say "very often/all the time/commonly". Sometimes I say "every day and twice on Tuesday" instead. The day you say doesn't matter. This conversation (plus the situation) may imply other things (disbelief, sarcasm, etc.), but I don't think the "every day" expression implies them.
11. Feb. 2009 · English grammar rules say that adverbs of frequency formed only from one word could go in mid-position too, which is between the noun and the main verb, so could you, please, tell me if it´s proper to say, I don´t often go to the cinema? It sounds a bit weird to me, probably that´s because I am only used to saying, I don´t go to the cinema often.
14. Feb. 2018 · Feb 13, 2018. #1. This issue comes up in my job with some frequency, and my supervisor regularly changes what I've written. Let's say I'm describing some incident that occurred on two separate dates in the same month and year. For example, I might write "The incident occurred on January 24 and 26, 2017," and my supervisor would change it to ...
