Günther Dissertori (* 24. November 1969 in Meran) ist ein italienischer Physiker und Professor für Teilchenphysik an der ETH Zürich. Er ist Experte in Quantenchromodynamik und ist seit vielen Jahren leitend im CMS Experiment am LHC Beschleuniger des CERN involviert, wo im Jahre 2012 das Higgs-Boson entdeckt wurde.
In February 2022, Günther Dissertori took up the role of Rector of ETH Zurich and is thus responsible for teaching. The physicist grew up in South Tyrol and studied at the University of Innsbruck. From there, he moved to work as a doctoral student at CERN in Geneva, where he began his research career.

Prof. G. Dissertori has studied Physics at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. In 1997 he obtained his PhD in Physics (summa cum laude), for a thesis on theoretical studies and experimental data analyses related to the ALEPH experiment at the CERN electron- positron collider LEP.
