Christopher Cross (* 3. Mai 1951 als Christopher Charles Geppert in San Antonio , Texas ) ist ein US-amerikanischer Sänger und Songschreiber , der fünf Grammys und einen Oscar gewann. Seine größten Erfolge feierte er in den frühen 1980er-Jahren mit Liedern wie Sailing , Ride Like the Wind und Arthur’s Theme .
Das Album gilt als eines der einflussreichsten des s. g. Softrocks, der Anfang der 1980er Jahre populär wurde. Christopher Cross gelang es bei der Grammy-Award-Verleihung 1981 als bisher einzigem Künstler, alle vier Hauptpreise in den Kategorien Bestes Album, Bester Sänger, Bester Song ( Sailing ) und Bester Newcomer zu gewinnen.
