Misplaced Childhood ist das dritte Studioalbum der britischen Progressive-Rock-Band Marillion. Es wurde Mitte des Jahres 1985 veröffentlicht und ist das bis heute kommerziell erfolgreichste Album der Band. Misplaced Childhood is the third studio album by the British neo-prog band Marillion, released in 1985. It is a concept album loosely based on the childhood of Marillion's lead singer, Fish, who was inspired by a brief incident that occurred while he was under the influence of LSD.
Als persönlichstes Album dürfte hier Misplaced Childhood zählen, das in einer ausschweifungsreichen Zeit in den Hansa-Studios in West-Berlin aufgenommen wurde. Mit diesem Album und der enthaltenen Single Kayleigh , angelehnt an eine reale Ex-Freundin Fishs namens Kay-Lee, konnte die Band zugleich ihren größten Erfolg verbuchen.
