Martin Robert Turner (born 1 October 1947) is an English musician best known for his time as the bass guitarist, lead vocalist and a founding member of the rock band, Wishbone Ash. [1] Career. Turner was with Wishbone Ash from their inception in 1969 until 1980, during which time he was a songwriter and creative force within the band.

Born in Torquay on October 1st 1947, Wishbone Ash's founding member Martin Turner began playing guitar at the age of fourteen, before switching to bass. Together with his brother Glenn he formed his first band the Torinoes in 1963.

Martin Turner and his band – Danny Willson, Misha Nikolic and Sonny Flint - are currently delighting audiences with their performances of the iconic 1973 Wishbone Ash “Live Dates” double album, plus other favourites, and will be continuing with this show format until the end of 2023.
