Artemis ( altgriechisch Ἄρτεμις Ártemis) ist in der griechischen Mythologie die Göttin der Jagd, der Jungfräulichkeit, des Waldes, der Geburt und des Mondes sowie die Hüterin der Frauen und Kinder. Sie zählt zu den zwölf großen olympischen Göttern. Sie ist die Tochter des Zeus und der Leto und Zwillingsschwester des Apollon.
Das Artemis-Programm ist ein bemanntes Raumfahrtprojekt der NASA in Zusammenarbeit mit internationalen Partnern wie der europäischen, der japanischen und der kanadischen Raumfahrtagentur ( ESA, JAXA und CSA ).
